The US-based company Waymo has declared that its driverless cabs will be available for use on London's streets starting next year.
The UK capital will become the inaugural European city to host an driverless taxi service, akin to those already in use in San Francisco and four other American locations utilizing Waymo's advanced technology.
Waymo confirmed that its cars are now heading to London and will start navigating on the city's streets in the coming weeks with safety drivers in control.
The company â initially formed as a derivative from the tech giant's self-driving car project and belonging to the Alphabet family â indicated it would increase services and collaborate with the Department for Transport and Transport for London to obtain the required licenses to provide fully autonomous trips by 2026.

Waymo presently has connections to Britain after establishing its inaugural European technical center in Oxford in 2019.
