Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.
More international job cuts are anticipated, with the company aiming to announce all specifics during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.
Prior news suggested the company planned to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 roles by early November.
As of December 2024, the organization had about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
The company has not yet commented regarding the report.
